“Calendula” extract is the proper name for the extract of the flower commonly know as the marigold (or Calendula officinalis). Thought to be native to the south of Mexico, but now growing  in abundance and in varying formats around the world, it is a member of the Sunflower family. Loaded with flavonoids and saponins, this extract is effective when added to plant oil formulas.

We love it due to its soothing and moisturising properties. Calendula extract is great at overall skin-conditioning. It can help calm redness, and it also supports the skin in healing and repair.
