The thing I love most about being the co-founder of  an independent skin care brand is the  ability to make a real difference in people’s daily lives. After a few weeks of using Votary Rose Geranium and Apricot Cleansing Oil, Lemon and Neroli Toning Serum, and Intense Night Oil I am delighted at how supple and soft my skin feels. My spots and uneven tone have disappeared and my face has its soft glow again. After almost a year of fighting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy I had given up all hope of getting back to looking and feeling ‘normal’. It’s really incredible. I love the whole ritual of massaging the cleansing oil into my skin, applying a warm flannel to my face and then gently drying with a clean towel. It marks the end of a hectic day as I disconnect and de-stress and prepare to sleep.

I started using Votary Super Seed Cleansing Oil, Super Seed Facial Oil and Super Seed Nutrient Cream four weeks ago and my skin has never felt better. There is a clear difference. I typically have oily skin and was quite worried about using an oil based cleanser but it hasn’t made my skin oilier at all, and has made my nose and forehead less shiny. I am currently thirty six weeks pregnant and have been suffering from a few hormonal spots around my ears and jawline but the Votary Blemish Rescue Oil has helped with this hugely. It’s now much less red and painful. I used to use a soap-based exfoliating cleanser. I now realise that this was too harsh for my skin but I thought that the harder I rubbed and the foamier the cleanser, the cleaner my skin would feel. I now know differently after using Votary! I tend to have very busy days and early starts so I really enjoy my Votary daily routine as it makes me slow down and take some time for myself. I’ll certainly be needing that once my son is born! I cannot rate Votary highly enough. I love it!

I love the fantastic fragrance of the Rose Geranium and Apricot Cleansing Oil and the Intense Night Oil. After applying the oil, using the hot facial towel made me very relaxed which was a lovely feeling just before going to sleep. I’ve also enjoyed using the aromatic cleansing oil when I soak in my bath. I like the fact that the ingredients are natural without any artificial chemicals or additives. When I first switched to Votary from what I had been using on my skin for the last ten years, my skin initially felt dryer but that disappeared after a couple of days as I adjusted to the oil soluble retinol in the Intense Night Oil. Previously I have shied away from natural products because they often left my skin dry. With Votary the opposite happened, my skin is more hydrated and happier than ever.

I don’t wear a lot of make up day to day but, when I go out, I really like to pile it on. However, by the end of the night all I want to do is remove it, quickly and thoroughly, so I can wake up feeling as fresh as possible. I use Votary Rose Geranium and Apricot Cleansing Oil and I put four pumps into my palms, massage all over my face, add a bit of water so that all the lipstick, foundation and eye makeup melts into one milky mix, and then easily wipe it all away with a hot face cloth – which is included by the way! At first I found it quite a strange concept to use an oil to clean, but on the first use my skin was left fresh, soft and plumped without a filmy residue or that tight, dry feeling that you can get with some cleansers. Using Votary is now the only way I feel that I’ve truly removed every trace of dirt and make up.

I am blown away by the Votary Clarifying range! In the first week of using the Clarifying Cleansing Oil and Facial Oil I saw a dramatic difference in the appearance of my skin. Firstly, where my skin is clear it appeared hydrated, healthier and with smaller pores. It didn’t look shiny anymore and it didn’t feel dry. Secondly, in the spot-prone areas – particularly around my mouth – I immediately lost the unsightly,
irritating dry patches around the blemishes which I had made worse by using chemical, drying products. The spots themselves calmed down, and were far less aggressive and easier to handle. As an update, I haven’t had a single new spot in three weeks, my face feels so smooth and my skin is looking the best it’s done in about six years!
